A CHAT WITH DANGL
Q: What was it that drew you into electronic music?
A: I remember visiting a family friend who was years older then me at the time. He was producing music on his computer and I was blown away that this was possible. Ever since then, electronic music began to find its way into my life. 2010 was the start of learning to DJ with my best mate in high school.
Q: Who's been your biggest influence and why?
A: Deadmau5 and Ministry of Sound, began the journey for me, I loved the stripped back electro styles at the time. These days a lot of my inspiration is from Silat Beksi. He has so many amazing tracks and a master on the decks.
Q: How do you prepare for your sets?
A: Good Question, I'm still figuring out the best way. I like to imagine myself dancing at the gig I'm playing at and going through new and old tracks to find ones that feel right. I'll make a couple of playlists, then play to the vibe on the night.
Q: What has been your most special performance as a DJ so far?
A: Hosting a big birthday doof and playing to a bunch of mates who were reclined in camp chairs in front of me, haha, most of which are DJs in the scene.
Q: What's in the pipeline for Dangl?
A: Lots of unreleased and unheard music to share with the world. Playing at a couple of festivals hopefully.
